If you asked yourself, "Cocoa Nuts… there has got to be something about that name," then you would be correct because there is.
When dissected, the word cocoa implies chocolate and perhaps caffeine. Likewise, the word nuts implies overly enthusiastic people. If extrapolated a bit, you might envision a group of people crazy about their work and drinking coffee to stay awake. In other words, Cocoa Nuts could imply a company that works hard.
Another way to look at our name is to combine them into one word, coconuts. This literally is a type of fruit with a hard outer shell and milky white inner core. Thinking about coconuts immediately brings to mind Thai cuisine and palm trees. Of course palm trees grow in tropical regions by the water where the weather is often sunny. If you put all these thoughts together, then stretch them slightly, you might see how our name is indicative of a company that knows how to relax and have fun.
Not only are we a company that likes to work hard and play hard but many of us are old school NeXT software developers who enjoyed working with Black hardware. The NeXTSTEP/OPENSTEP developer tools have become Apple's "Cocoa" framework. So you could say we are nuts over Cocoa, hence the name of our company is Cocoa Nuts Technology.
